Held in Johannesburg during July, this large-scale food-programme activity carried the spirit of Mandela Day into practical service, with a recorded reach of 20,000 people.

The July deployment combined shared meals, children’s care packs and livelihood support—practical acts of care designed to meet immediate needs while strengthening future opportunity.
The July portfolio combined care for orphans, families fighting cancer, university students, blind learners and returnee farming families across Damascus, Hama, Idlib, Aleppo, Azaz and Latakia.

Where the work concentrated
The project count tells one story; the recorded reach tells another. Water projects were few but high-impact, while education and healthcare focused on smaller, precise interventions.
Final reports received
From emergency meals in the Philippines to fresh food and clean water in Gaza, these stories show how donor support became practical relief for families during July.
The report documents rapid relief and field assessments after the Sarangani earthquake, including two beneficiary case studies and urgent recovery needs for homes and mosques.
The three-week distribution prioritised households with children, older people, pregnant women and people living with chronic conditions. All planned baskets were reported delivered.
A 3,500-litre truck served displacement camps over three weeks. The family figure is retained as reported and is not converted into a unique-person estimate.

In its 1 July statement, Cabinet thanked Ashraful Aid and other nonprofits for supporting the coordinated Musina repatriation response.

During July, Ashraful Aid delivered 44 national and international projects across food, water, education, healthcare, disaster response, social development and livelihood support.
From Mandela Day in Johannesburg to the Sri Lanka deployment, every story reflects practical care: nourishing meals, essential support and opportunities that help families move forward.
Donor support helped provide 56,000 meals, care for 750 patients, distribute more than 5,000 blankets and beanies, and mobilise over 700 volunteers for families affected by displacement.
In the Philippines, families received 4,500 hot meals and 600 hygiene kits following the earthquake. In Gaza, fresh vegetable baskets and 42,000 litres of clean water brought nourishment, dignity and relief to displaced families.
